Biography
Carlos Seguel Huidobro Born 1959 in Santiago, Chile studied at the Art Academy of the Universidad de Chile for two years before leaving the country in 1980.
The first step took him to the United States, where he pursued and successfully completed his studies in Advertising Design, obtaining a BFA in Fine Arts from Boise State University, Idaho in 1984.
Following his graduation, Carlos embarked on extensive travels, exploring England, France, and two years in Brussels (Belgium) where he studied French at the ULB and had his first solo exhibition in 1985 in the famous cafe "La Fleur en Papier Doré", seat of reunion of artists as Delvaux, Magritte and Ensor.
Two years later he moved to Amsterdam, working for a leading advertising studio and then for the government for three years as Senior Graphic Designer until 1999.
Throughout his journey, Carlos organized significant exhibitions of his paintings, showcasing his evolving artistic vision to audiences around the world. In 2003 he travels to Italy and settles in Tuscania located north of Rome where he decides to further pursue his artistic endeavor.
Starting in 2006 he has been regularly engaged as an art teacher for various studies abroad programs in Italy and since 2021 for University of Arizona in Orvieto.
He lives and works in The Netherlands and Italy and currently holds his studio in Porano near Orvieto.
